DP Character Sheet1

Okay, this here isn’t really anything all that special. I just like to practise drawing characters in my own style before I get started on any big projects. I've actually been just sitting on these for a couple of weeks now and decided to just put them up. I’m mostly trying to get the designs down here as well as in the other ‘character sheets’ that come after this.

I’ve noticed that a lot of people who draw Danny in a style other than the one in the series tend to make his hair floppier than it is in the show, so that it almost hangs in his eyes. I was considering something like that here, until I decided that my personal style is cartoony enough to handle Danny’s canon scruffy hairstyle. I also wanted to try designing an alternative uniform for Danny, though we’ll have to wait and see how much I’ll actually use it in my art.

There isn’t much to say about Sam or Tucker, since they were both pretty easy to convert to a different style of drawing. But I also did some alternative costumes for Sam, one for the one from the Urban Jungle episode as well as one more classical Victorian gothic dress. I’m happier with the gothic dress than I am with the plant one, so I might redo that one if I ever get around to drawing Sam going Poison Ivy again.

Of course I’d draw the main villain after the main heroes, so Vlad gets to be on the same sheet with the kids who constantly foil his plans. I have to admit Vlad’s body structure is a bit hard to get down with the way it’s somewhat broad-shoudered but still slim. Plasmius is easier since Vlad gains overall more muscle mass in that form. Since the original style is so sparing in facial features, I took some liberties and added in high cheekbones to give Vlad’s face a more aristocratic feel. And, I also did an alternative design of Vlad’s costume. There aren’t many changes since I like drawing the original one so much already, but I might tweak this design further at some point, if I decide to use it for anything.
